Hope.

For me to sit here and say that the beginning of March was easy would be like me saying that I hate birthdays. Absolutely untrue. For those of you who don't know, I'm the biggest birthday diva you will ever meet. Ever.

But pity is not what I want, and praise is not what I seek. A little inspiration is all that I'm after. And inspiration is exactly what I got.

A little fact about me: I hate change. I don't handle it well.

For example (side story): when I was leaving for college, I cried from the moment we started packing the car until we hit the Louisiana border. It takes a little over 3 hours to get out of Texas from Dallas so there was about a four hour period of constant tear flowage. You know, the kind where when someone (mom) tries to change the subject and ask you a question and every time you open your mouth to answer you start uncontrollably weeping. Don't act like you aren't familiar with this...

Anyhow, that being said, this past week I was greeted with unfavorable change of many kinds. My heart stumbled a bit and I had trouble finding the inspiration I was desperately searching for. Wednesday rolled around and I walked to my room to find a folded piece of paper stuck on my door. I unfolded the paper to find this:

"Beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad, but it's the middle that counts the most. Try to remember that when you find yourself at a new beginning. Just give hope a chance to float up. And it will..."- Hope Floats.

I suppose the phrase "ask and you shall receive" comes to mind because this is exactly the kind of thing I needed to read. I couldn't care less if you think it's cheesy or weird, but the quote with kind words written underneath is now tacked to my bulletin board, right by my door, so I see it in every passing.

I am many things synonymous to grateful.  And thanks to a lot of help from my friends, you can add hopeful to the list...

I am lucky enough to have surrounded myself with people who have my back, look after my heart, and fill my mind with wisdom. I have discovered that if this is not the case for every person in your life, they have no business being there.

Surround yourself with nothing but love. Because that's something that everyone deserves.

Here's to hoping for the best...
